I've been thinking a lot about community lately, probably because of my increased involvement in a small group. I've always known that community was important, but until recently I've not really appreciated the beauty of community. As one of my favorite theologians said it "the Christian life glorifies Christ best when it is done together with other believers".
As the last few months have gone by, I've seen my need for discipleship through community. I've seen a side of myself these last few months that has scared me. I'm broken and tired, and I'm starting to see it clearly.
Where as some people have the fellowship of the bar, or the fellowship of the joint, we as the body of Christ are supposed to fellowship around the broken body of Christ. This fellowship is focused around the shared experience of life-change that comes through Jesus' love.
